There are no more adjectives that can describe the show offered every day by Real Madrid's stars, both in Spain and in Europe. Ronaldo took part to the first major play by Real Madrid in the 20th minute, an action started by the Brazilian and continued first by Zizou and concluded by Roberto Carlos, who shot high. In the 32nd, Ronnie received an assist by Figo at the box’s edge, shot by the French goalkeeper saved his goal. And when there was no time left to react, Ronaldo scored the 2-1, receiving an assist by Salgado. In the 52nd minute, he received a deep pass by Beckham and changed gear, but the French defence could keep the danger at a distance. In the 55th minute the scored the 3-1, after an extraordinary play, started from Real's defensive line from Roberto Carlos and Zizou. Ten minutes before the final whistle, he made two great plays and was knocked down in the box, nut the referee did not give the penalty in any of the two actions. Five minutes before the end of the match, he was substituted with Santiago Hernán Solari.

Ronaldo stepped out in the most difficult moment, in the 33rd minute of the game, though he had already advised the opponent in the previous two actions. A fantastic play by Michel Salgado, who reached with the ball in his foot the line of the box, was concluded with an assist in the heart of the box for Ronaldo, who hit the ball with his right foot and passed Runje with e low shot. In the 10th minute of the second half, he scored his second personal, after a “model” play. Roberto Carlos masterfully started the action from Real’s defensive line, passing the ball to Zinedine Zidane who covered half court with the ball on his foot until the box edge, and Ronaldo, who carefully followed the whole play, unleashed a low shot with his left foot, which passed the French goalkeeper.
Already on top of Europe
By virtue of the neat 4-2 win against Olympique Marseille and the draw (1-1) in Belgrade between Partizan and Porto, Coach Carlos Queiroz’s team is already leading UEFA Champions League’s Group F. Their next match is scheduled for October 1, in Portugal against Porto, coached by Josè Mourinho. Then, on October 22, they will come back to Bernabeu to play against Partizan Belgrade. Real Madrid CF have started this season with sensational stats: 15 goals in 4 official matches (11 in the League and 4 in the Champions League).
