LONDON/KIEV, Dec10 (SW) – With first place and the prospect of advancing in the
Champions League on the line for Arsenal and Lokomotiv Moskva, the unlikely
happened, as Dynamo Kyiv and Inter Milan have drawn in Kiev with a score of 1-1,
which means that despite Arsenal’s 2-0 triumph over Lokomotiv both teams advance.
Inter now enter the UEFA Cup, while Dynamo are eliminated from the competition.
Lokomotiv began the game with caution, realizing that the second match in Kiev
would also effect their position. However, early on in the game, Arsenal started
to show a spark of determination.
This determination paid off in the 12th minute, as Thierry Henry picked up a
loose ball, and shot it to Robert Pires in the box, who drove it past Lokomotiv

67th minute. Again it was Henry with the assist, this time to Freddy Ljungberg

As the leaders of Group B battled it out, Inter were in a lock with Kiev so see
who had the greatest chance of at least making it to the UEFA Cup.
Both sides came out aggressively but neither were unable to make any crucial
shots to take the lead, and the first half ended scoreless.
The first goal in the match finally came in the 68th minute for Inter and their
chances to remain at least contenders in the UEFA Cup started looking good.
Inter’s Emre Belözoglu shot high and deep into Dynamo territory, which found
Adani who headed it in for the goal.
Dynamo would not go out easily, though, as they finally managed to level the
score in the 84th minute. Picking up a loose ball on a deflected shot, Diogo
Rincón, tipped it in for a goal.
Unfortunately for Dynamo Kyiv, they have been eliminated from both the Champions
League and the UEFA Cup. Inter will now enter the UEFA Cup and Arsenal and
Lokomotiv Moskva advance in the Champions League.
