Real Madrid striker Ronaldo has had to
delay his return to Spain following Brazil's World Cup qualifiers
because of family problems, the Primera Liga club said on Friday.
"Ronaldo has told the club about the situation and they have given him
permission not to return on the same plane as fellow countryman Roberto
Carlos so that he will have time to resolve the problem," Real said on
their website.
"It is not known whether he will arrive in time to train with his team
mates."
Real, who trail league leaders Barcelona by 11 points, play Albacete on
Sunday.
Ronaldo missed a league match against Numancia in January when he flew
back to Brazil because of a family illness.
The 28-year-old, who is going through one of his most barren patches in
his career, has scored just one league goal in the last 10 matches and
was also unable to get on the score sheet in Brazil's 1-1 draw against
Uruguay or their 1-0 victory over Peru, where he missed a sitter. |
