Real Madrid and
Atletico de Madrid held each other to a scoreless draw in the capital
city derby, while Real Betis defeated Zaragoza to, at least temporarily,
move into fourth place.
At Santiago Bernabeu stadium, Real Madrid hosted their city rivals
Atletico, for their penultimate game of the season. After having lost
their last chance to win the Spanish championships, 'Los Galacticos'
were unable to find renewed motivation, not having to defend their
second place.
No goals were scored during the match, and the only events to be
included in the referee's final report, were yellow cards for Real's
David Beckham, and Atletico's Perea, Colsa and Medina.
More goals were scored at Real Betis versus Real Zaragoza, where the
hosts from Sevilla won 3-2 with goals from Juanito, Ricardo Oliveira and
Fernando, while Savio and Juan Camacho scored for Zaragoza. With this
victory, Betis take the fourth place, which gives access to the
Champions League, but may lose that spot again when Sevilla face Getafe
on Sunday. |
