Ronaldo tried to convince Florentino Perez to take back his
resignation from the Real Madrid presidency, it has been revealed.
The Brazilian striker touched down in Moscow yesterday with teammates Roberto
Carlos and Cicinho to be informed of Perez's shock decision.
Ronaldo immediately called a close friend in Madrid, who confirmed the news.
Ronaldo, like his Brazilian teammates, was in disbelief.
The Real star made contact with Perez and urged him to reconsider, but the
former Real supremo was adamant that it was the best decision for the club that
he leave.
Ronaldo, still at the Moscow airport terminal, told an AS reporter: "I believe
Real Madrid have lost a lot today.
"Florentino was the only one at the club who defended me and gave me confidence.
It is a very sad day for me. A great president has left." |
