Real Madrid striker Ronaldo will
be sidelined for a month after undergoing an operation on his left shin
in Rio.
The 29-year-old Brazilian forward was
accompanied by doctors from both his club and country.
And Brazilian national team doctor Jose Luiz Runco said: "He could start
to train with the ball in four weeks. We must hope that the wound heals."
Ronaldo scored his 15th World Cup goal for Brazil in Germany to break
Gerd Muller's tournament goalscoring record.
Although both Real and Brazil doctors were present at Ronaldo's
operation, the Spanish club's doctor Alfonso del Corral has denied
reports of a rift between the two parties.
He said: "The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) and Real Madrid
always work together. I have never had problems with the Brazilian FA."
