Real Madrid will try to sign Juventus
forward David Trezeguet if they lose Brazilian star Ronaldo, according
to the internet site of Spanish newspaper Marca.
Three-times world player of the year Ronaldo saw a move to AC Milan fall
through earlier in the day after the two clubs failed to agree on a fee.
But according to the newspaper, Ronaldo is still wanted by Milan's city
rivals Inter and if he was to head for Italy, Real would swoop for
Frenchman Trezeguet.
However, signing the 1998 World Cup winner might not be easy.
Juventus have already stated that following the departures of Fabio
Cannavaro and Emerson to Real, Liliam Thuram and Gianluca Zambrotta to
Barcelona and Patrick Vieira and Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Inter, there will
be no more sales.
They also said that after selling Vieira, though, only to allow
Ibrahimovic to leave around a week later.
Were the 28-year-old Trezeguet to join Real he would meet up again with
former coach Fabio Capello, who left Turin for the Bernabeu just before
Juventus's relegation to Serie B for match-fixing. |
