Real Madrid supremo Ramon Calderon
admits Ronaldo is on his way out of the Bernabeu, with Newcastle linked
to a Ј5million swoop for him.
The Magpies are struggling for options in
attack, with Glenn Roeder having to play Antoine Sibierski or Kieron
Dyer just behind Obafemi Martins due to injuries for Michael Owen and
Shola Ameobi.
Brazilian hitman Ronaldo is firmly out of favour under Real coach Fabio
Capello, and at Ј5million could be a snip as shirt sales would go
through the roof at St James' Park.
Roeder could also move for Antonio Cassano, another striker not in
Capello's plans, but if the boss is able to convince Ronaldo to move to
the North-East the Magpies will have to stump up wages of at least
Ј90,000 a week.
The Spanish club's president Calderon said: "It seems that Ronaldo is no
longer in the coach's plans and that is the way it is.
"There is the possibility of something happening before January 31 and
if that happens then we shall see."
In regards to Cassano, Capello confirmed he is no longer in his thinking,
saying: "Cassano does not enter into my plans." |
