Injured AC Milan striker Ronaldo has admitted that his dream of
playing Flamengo may never come true.
The 31-year-old ruptured a tendon in his left knee against Livorno in February,
and will be sidelined for at least nine months.
Last week the Brazilian revealed that, as part of his rehabilitation, he would
like to play for Flamengo before then returning to Milan.
Ronaldo has now admitted that this may not be easy to organize.
"I dream about playing for Flamengo, but it will be a difficult dream to achieve,"
El Fenomeno shrugged.
Flamengo President Marcio Braga has stated though that he is desperate to pull
of the deal.
"I will sit down with his agent this week. Ronaldo does not need to prove
anything," Braga said.
Ronaldo has been using Flamengo's medical facilities, and has regularly been
seeing club doctor Jose Luiz Runco.
"He has talked to Dr Runco almost every day," Braga continued. "However, we will
be able to think about playing only in 2009." |
