"When I injured myself the first thing that went through my head
was that I was finished. That I would never play again. Because it was quite a
blow.
"But as time went on I realised that football is my life. And that I know
exactly what I have to do to get back playing again.
"I can’t pretend that it isn’t going to be difficult, that I won’t have to make
lots of sacrifices, as I am already. But I know it’s possible to play again.
Right now I can’t see me doing anything else in life.
"I started playing when I was very young and I still love the game as much today
as I did back then. And that’s why I can’t see me doing anything else.
"It’s that passion that I have for the game that stops me from throwing in the
towel. That and the certainty that I can and really want to play again.
"And in order to do that, the support of my family is very important. They are
giving me all the support I need and they are always there at my side.
"Right now my main objective is to get back playing again as soon as possible.
Winning games, scoring goals and being the same old striker I was. I want fans
to see me and smile – just like they used to. " |
