Recovering Brazilian legend Ronaldo has confirmed that there are
options available for him to join either Manchester City or Flamengo.
The 32-year-old's future in soccer has been uncertain ever since he severed a
tendon in his knee playing for AC Milan against Livorno in February.
After undergoing a successful operation, it was estimated he would be out of
action for at least nine months, but there were fears that he may never return
to the pitch.
Ronaldo's rehabilitation is going well, and he could be fit again soon. But
after his contract at Milan expired at the end of June, the Italian giants opted
against offering him a new deal.
The Brazilian is now available on a free transfer, and recently he has been
linked to both Manchester City and Flamengo. The striker has confirmed that both
clubs could be his next destination.
"Flamengo and Manchester City are two options," he told journalists. "But
nothing more than that. There is nothing concrete. The most important thing is
that there is interest from big teams.
"It's clear that I have nostalgia for the national team but I am continuing with
the utmost calm," Ronaldo continued about a possible return. "I want to first
return to the right spot physically and then come back to play and then think
about Brazil."
Brazilian internationals Robinho, Elano and Jo are already plying their trade at
the City of Manchester Stadium. Could Ronaldo be next? |
