Brazilian striker Ronaldo insists he is not thinking of retiring and that he
still has much more to offer.
The three-time FIFA World Player of the Year is on the brink of a return to
football after recovering from a career-threatening knee injury sooner than
expected.
And Ronaldo, who has been training with Flamengo, cannot wait to get back on the
pitch and prove his doubters wrong.
"I want to stop playing when I decide, not because I have been forced to by an
injury," he told Brazilian magazine Trip.
"In the book of my career there are still a lot of blank pages to write upon,
and I want to finish while scoring goals."
Ronaldo sustained the injury eight months ago while playing for AC Milan and
since becoming a free agent in the summer, offers have been pouring in for the
32-year-old.
Paris St Germain and Manchester City are among the European clubs reportedly
keen to acquire his services, and Ronaldo has revealed that he could soon be
facing AC Milan in Serie A.
He added: "There's an offer from an Italian club, but it's not Milan." |
