Ronaldo scored his fifth goal in seven matches Tuesday to
help Corinthians beat Ituano 3-0.
With one round to go before the semifinals stage, Corinthians is second
in the 20-team standings with 38 points, three less than Palmeiras. With
the victory Corinthians secured a spot in the semifinals of the Sao
Paulo state championship.
Ronaldo netted Corinthians' second goal in the 27th minute as he took a
cross from Alessandro and scored with a right-footed shot from near the
penalty spot.
Jorge Henrique opened the scoring for for Corinthians with a header just
two minutes into the match at Pacaembu, and Cristian added to
Corinthians' first-half lead with a free kick goal in the 41st minute.
In the second half Ronaldo had a goal disallowed after he was ruled
offside.
