Corinthians will take on Misto in the Copa do Brasil this week without
the legendary striker Ronaldo as he has been saved for the league.
The forward has made a triumphant return to his home country and has
started to find the net for Corinthians lately.
However, with his physical condition still not 100%, he has been given
the night off in the Copa this week to prepare for the game with Sao
Paulo this weekend.
Mano Menezes has deliberately left the striker at home as he bids to
regain his fitness, and will be hoping that he can have more impact
against Sao Paulo than he did in the last meeting.
Even though he did not manage to influence the game much though, his
team-mate Dentinho paid tribute to the striker.
"The rest is for the man who ran his heart out in the classico. He is
different. He is resting because he gave his all on Sunday," he
explained.
Whilst Ronaldo will not play and has not travelled, Elias has gone with
the squad to Morenao, even though he will not take part in the match, so
that he can visit family. |
